Cacao Nocturne Dark Roast Discovery Bag
A nocturnal kind of elegance — one origin at two depths
Most dark roasts pursue intensity by blending multiple origins and roasting everything dark. Cacao Nocturne does something more deliberate. A single certified-organic Peruvian bean — chosen for its natural richness and low-acidity character — is roasted twice. Half reaches French roast: deep, smoky sweetness that draws out the cacao character and adds caramelized complexity. The other half pushes further to Italian roast: a profound darkness that builds intensity, body, and molasses weight. In Ohio, these two versions of the same origin are brought together. The result has a layered complexity that neither roast level — alone — could create.
Deep cacao, velvety finish, no bitterness
The cup opens with dark cacao — rich and confident, not harsh. Molasses follows, adding warmth and rounded sweetness that prevents the roast from becoming heavy. Toasted walnut provides a textured body, and a quiet note of baking spice keeps the finish interesting through the last sip. Velvety and full. This is what a dark roast is supposed to taste like.
For the ritual of a slower, more considered cup
Cacao Nocturne works as a sophisticated daily dark roast, a slow-morning ritual, an after-dinner coffee, or a polished pairing with dark chocolate or dessert. Small-batch blended in Ohio by the Stephen James roasting team. As the collection grows, blending will evolve to maintain consistent quality at scale. Part of Rituales de Origen — five Latin America-inspired coffees crafted for every mood, moment, and ritual.
